Scholarships

The EYC Foundation is committed to providing scholarships to young people in the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County area who demonstrate an interest in the initiatives and programs the Foundation sponsors and demonstrate a need for financial assistance.  Currently, scholarships are available for the Eastport Yacht Club Learn-to-Sail Program and MAST, our MArine Skills Training Program.

The Foundation welcomes applications for scholarships in any program which it deems appropriate to its vision.  Please us with your requests.

Mast Scholarships

Mast scholarship applications are reviewed by the Foundation in February of each year and awarded in March. Preference is given to graduates of the Center for Applied Technology - South in Edgewater, Maryland, but scholarship awards are not exclusive to this school. Scholarship awards are made only to those who have been accepted by accredited schools. If you are interested in receiving a scholarship application, click HERE. Links to sites describing vocations in the marine trades and schools are on the MAST page.

2010 MAST Scholarship Awarded to Leif Carlsson

Leif Carlsson, a graduate of Broadneck High School and Center for Applied Technology - South's Marine Repair Technology program, was awarded a MAST scholarship on May 14, 2010 to further his education and enhance his skills in the marine trades.

Leif, also an Outstanding Student award winner, hopes to expand his love for boats and the water by working in the marine industry. His love for the water comes from both his Father and Grandfather whose knowledge of boat building and the sea has inspired him.
